Leona B. Haase

Leona B. Haase, 84, Schofield, died Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Ministry St. Clare's Hospital, Weston. She was born October 16, 1930 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Leslie and Helen (Magrecke) Wadinski. On November 26, 1949 she married Andrew Haase in Milwaukee. He survives. Leona was a homemaker and worked in retail at the Fair Store, Fashion Store, JC Penny and Hal's Food Warehouse. She was a long time member of St. Michael Catholic Church serving as a past president of the Parish Women's Council working many fish frys and other church events. Leona enjoyed spending time with her birthday club friends and above all she cherished time spent with family and watching her grandkids play sports. Survivors include her husband, Andy Haase, Schofield; sons, James (Jill) Haase, Kronenwetter and Mark (Melinda) Haase, Wausau; grandchildren, Jessica (Bill) Sands, Christopher (Theresa) Haase, Sarah (Gregory) Laubmeier, Stephanie (Patrick) Lindsley, Matthew and Megan Haase; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Dylan Sands, Miles, Elliot and Quentin Haase, Quinn and Aiden Laubmeier; brother, James Wadinski; sister-in-law, Betty Wadinski. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by infant twin great-grandchildren, Grace and Caitlin, brother, William Wadinski and sister-in-law, Mildred Wadinski. Per Leona's request no services will be held. A family gathering is planned to celebrate Leona's life at later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Ministry Home Care Hospice or the Marathon County Humane Society. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Ministry Home Care Hospice and TLC for their kind, compassionate care given to Leona.
