Leona D. Davidowski

Leona D. Davidowski, 83, Ringle, died Tuesday September 8, 2015 at St. Clare's Hospital. She was born November 2, 1931, in Wausau, daughter of the late Peter and Frances (Falkowski) Nievinski. On December 21, 1951, she married Edwin R. Davidowski at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, Milwaukee. He preceded her in death January 7, 2005. Leona was a baker at Dale's Super Value and most recently had been with Food Service for the D.C. Everest School District. Known to many as "Mom" or "Grandma", Leona was always cooking up a storm for family and friends. When she wasn't making food, she was canning all the fruits and vegetables of the season to share with family and sell at Ringle Harvest Fest. She greeted everyone with a warm smile and a genuinely friendly greeting. Among her favorite pastimes were listening to Molly B Polka Show, playing Bingo & cards, quilting and baking her delicious bread. Survivors include her children, Debra (Karl) Blank, Wausau, Denise (Scott) Mattice, Wausau, Diane Faulks, Ringle, Darlene (Duane) Wroblewski, Ringle, Edwin Jr. (Karla) Davidowski, Ringle, Duane (Robin) Davidowski, Prior Lake, Minn., Danelle (Jim) Davidowski-Drury, Ringle; 12 grandchildren, David Pazio Jr., Tammy Pazio, Chad Blank, Dana Mattice, Justin (Katie) Mattice, Carol Faulks, Cathy Faulks, Christine Faulks, Logan Davidowski, Kasi Davidowski, Brad Davidowski and Samantha Bogan; 14 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; one sister, Agnes Benaszeski, Ringle and two brothers, Ted (Alice) Nievinski, Mosinee and Leonard Nievinski, Hatley. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Pazio, a son, David Davidowski, two sisters, Dorothy Nievinski and Angeline Zoromski. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday September 11, 2015 at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. Rev. Greg Bohren will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
