Leona A. Buedding

Leona A. Buedding 88, Wausau, died Friday, October 19, 2012, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. She was born January 21, 1924 in Wausau, daughter of the late Stanislaus and Mary (Skarwecki) Sowinski. On July 3, 1943, she married Wilbert Buedding in Wausau. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1989. Leona was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Michael Catholic Church. Among her many interests, she enjoyed canning, doing puzzles, playing dice, shuffleboard and being the matriarch of her large and loving family. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include, eight children, Ronald (Jeanne) Buedding, Wausau, Dennis (Nancy) Buedding, Wausau, John (Vicki) Buedding, Wausau, Michael Buedding, Weston, Bob (Anne) Buedding, Sun Prairie, Susan (Bill) Beck, Wausau, Randall (Kathy) Buedding, Hatley and Rebecca (Jeff) Felver, Wausau; 11 grandchildren, Dan (Tara) Buedding, Heather (Kirk) Polkinghorne, Teri (Ted) Hayes, Alanna Buedding, Ashley (Joshua) White, Phil Buedding, Rose (Ryan) Voigt, Dana (Peter) Kulas, Megan (Dustin) Resch, Christopher Buedding and Katie Felver; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Ione Sowinski, Weston, Irene Sowinski, Wausau and Mabel Baumann, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Wilbert, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Lori Buedding; and 13 siblings. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
