Leona A. Babl
87, formerly of Weston, died Wednesday, November 7, 2001 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.
She was born June 22, 1914 in Holton, daughter of the late John and Emma (Beyreis) Hein. On June 6, 1934, she married Leon Babl in Wausau. He survives.
Leona & Leon owned/operated the Pine Motel and Babl's Bar in Weston until retiring in 1971. She enjoyed canning, cooking, crafts and playing cards.
Survivor besides her husband, Leon, Wausau include one daughter, Elaine (William) Duginske, Weston; three sons, Stuart L. (Lorelei) Babl, Weston, Clark H. (Janice) Babl, Necedah and John L. Babl, Wausau; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Hein, Oconomowoc.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Mielke and one brother, Harry Hein.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2001 at Bell Towers Residence, Merrill. Friends may call Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at Bell Tower.
