Leon C. Weisbrod

Leon C. Weisbrod 79, 114 Weston Ave., Rothschild, died Wednesday, October 22, 2003 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born April 29, 1924 in Wausau, son of the late William Sr. and Frances (Odenweller) Weisbrod. On October 2, 1948, he married Ruth Fahl at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DePere. She survives. Leon was a veteran of US Navy serving in World War II. He was employed in the chemical division at the former American Can Company, Rothschild prior to his retirement. Leon loved fishing, hunting, golfing, traveling and hiking. Besides his wife, Ruth, Rothschild, survivors includes two brothers, Lawrence (Theresa) Weisbrod and Robert (Adrienne) Weisbrod all of Wausau; nieces& nephews, Mary (Curt) Swanson and their children, Tracy & Eddie; John ((Kathleen) Weisbrod and their daughter, Brenna; Jane (Peter) Ince and their children, Andy & Elizabeth; Gerald (Leslie) Fahl II and their children, Jason, Brian and Sydney; Derek Fahl; Alan (Michele) Fahl, and their children, Laken & Bailey; Marlys Fahl; Gina Fahl; Kathy (Gary) Talbot and their children Jimmy & Andy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Henry, Edward, William Jr. infant Charles Weisbrod; sister, Helen Weisbrod. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2003 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Joseph Rafacz will preside. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
