Leo R. Johnson 79, 1774 Forsyth Road., Kronenwetter, died Thursday, April 8, 2004 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born October 24, 1924 in Baraga, Mich., son of the late Andrew and Kristina (Lindberg) Johnson. On December 29, 1947 he married Mildred Beck at Zion Lutheran Church in Baraga. She survives. Leo was an Industrial Service Representative for Honeywell, Inc. He was a member of the L'Anse Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Ahmed Shrine Center Marquette. Leo loved to bird hunt and was always eager to learn new things. Leo was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the National Guard. Survivors besides his wife Mildred Johnson, Kronenwetter, include his children; Ric (Shelley) Johnson, Omaha, Neb., Kristine Johnson, Minneapolis, Minn., Kathi (John) Nutting, Savage, Minn., five grandchildren, Tim (Tiffany) Johnson, Eric Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Adam Nutting, Alex Nutting, one great grandson Jack Johnson along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Leo was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2004 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Dennis R. Creswell will officiate. Friends may call on Monday from Noon until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
