Lennice S. Gehrke

Lennice S. Gehrke, 100, Colby died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Colonial Center, Colby. She was born September 28, 1914 in Hancock, daughter of the late Otis and Mary (Reid) Gray. On April 15, 1937 she married Paul Gehrke at Potter Memorial Church, Hancock. He preceded her in death. Lennie was a homemaker and also farmed with her husband Paul. She enjoyed doing the daily tasks around the farm and loved being outdoors. Some of her interests included fishing, raising her many cats and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Dan (Sue) Gehrke, Dorchester, six grandchildren, Bobbie (Brian) Reamer, Shaun Gehrke, Jody (Dawn) Gehrke, Bradley Gehrke, Kathryn Gehrke and Michael Gehrke, nine great grandchildren, Nick, Brittany, Brandon, Cassandra, Ryan, Emily, Cora, Gabe and Sam, and one great grandchild, Zane Gehrke. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one grandson, Jamie Gehrke. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Colburn-Leola Cemetery, Hancock. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens is in charge of arrangements.
