Lena M. Augustine

Lena M. Augustine, 91, Weston died Monday, January 7, 2013 at Renaissance Living Center, Weston. She was born July 11, 1921 in Anvil, Michigan, daughter of the late Herman and Mary (Barbacovi) Zadra. On January 22, 1941she married Henry Augustine at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1974. For many years Lena and her husband Henry were the owners of Hank & Lena's Bar in Schofield. Following the bar business Lena also worked at the Wausau Country Club. Lena loved to do word search puzzles, go polka dancing and spend time up north at the cottage, fishing in the summer and ice fishing in the winter. Survivors include her six children, Ronald (Char) Augustine, Wausau, Richard (Ruth) Augustine, Rothschild, Janet (Tom) Kesy, Wausau, Al (Brenda) Augustine, Windsor, Dennis (Judy) Augustine, Colorado and Robert (Shawn) Augustine, Tomahawk, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one sister, Mary Ann Augustine, Weston and two brothers, Joseph (Edna) Zadra, West Bend and Rudy Zadra, Gainsville, Florida along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one grandson, Colt Augustine. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. The Rev. David Rybicki will preside. Burial will be in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Weston. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Sixth Street funeral home.
