Leila E Burmeister

Leila E. Burmeister 61, Marathon, died Sunday, August 24, 2008 at the home of her aunt in Wausau. She was born November 14, 1946 in Wausau, daughter of the late Ervin and Alma (Krenz) Burmeister. She graduated from Marathon High School in 1964 and received an elementary education degree from the UW Madison in 1968. Leila worked at Wausau Insurance for 25 years and also enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling and helping on the farm. Survivors include one sister, Alda Burmeister; one brother, Alvin Burmeister, both of town of Stettin; four aunts, Norma Krenz, Anita Krenz, both of Wausau, Erma Burmeister, Marathon and Jean Burmeister, Athens; one uncle, Henry (Barbara) Burmeister, Athens; god child, Otto Birkholtz; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be 2 PM Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church , Rib Falls. The Rev. Terry Reich will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, town of Stettin. Friends may call Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 5 - 9 PM at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again Thursday from Noon until the time of services at the church.
