Lawrence J. Weisbrod
87, 310 Prospect Avenue, Wausau, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at his home.
He was born May 26, 1917 in Wausau, son of the late William and Frances (Odenweller) Weisbrod. On October 8, 1947, he married Theresa Shebelski at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. She survives.
Prior to his retirement, Larry was self employed as a painter and decorator.
He proudly served his country in the Army during World War II having received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus George Schreier Council No. 1069 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Schofield Post No. 8895. In the past, Larry had been involved with the Boy Scouts, serving as Scoutmaster for many years.
Survivors include, his wife, Theresa, Wausau; one daughter, Jane (Peter) Ince, Madison and their children Andrew and Elizabeth Ince; one son, John (Kathleen) Weisbrod, Spokane, Wash., and their daughter, Brenna Weisbrod; one brother, Robert (Adrienne) Weisbrod, Wausau; one sister-in-law, Ruth Weisbrod, Rothschild; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Leon, Henry, Edward, William Jr. and infant Charles Weisbrod; and one sister, Helen Weisbrod.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2005 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. Stephen Gross will preside. Friends may call 9:30 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
