Lawrence A. Schneider

Lawrence A. Schneider 91, 3505 Ross Avenue, Schofield, died Weds. May 3, 2006 of natural causes, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born September 23, 1914, in Wausau, son of the late William and Mary (Knaak) Schneider. On October 30, 1937, he married Eleanor Kostka at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death December 5, 1999. Lawrence had been employed at the former Crestline Corporation for 43 years, prior to his retirement. He was an organizer and member of the Carpenters Union Local 1594. For many years, he was a part time bartender at the Farmer's Tavern. In his younger years, he served with the Civilian Conservation Corps. Among his many interests, he enjoyed camping, card playing, Sunday drives and traveling. He especially enjoyed going to Alaska, just for the Halibut. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia "Tootie" (Perry) Schubring, Wausau, Virginia Hahn, Alaska, 12 grandchildren, Chris (Janelle) Schneider, Heike (Dan) Frost, Tricia (Keith) Miller, Tracey (Brian) Rampke, Neil Hahn, Guy (Kim) Hahn, Dawn Williams, Dana (Ken) Zblewski, Derwin (Tammy) Schubring, Deanna, Donnell & Denise Schubring; 23 great-grandchildren, Brett, Brittany, Kylee, Taylor, Brandon, Cole, Dawson, Ashley, Andy, Jake, Kaylee, Taylore, Kyle, Daniel, Luke, Samantha, MaKaylah, Orion, Dina, Derek, Destiny, Jordon, Jody and one great-great-grandson, Ashton. Besides his parents and wife, Lawrence was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Jr and a son-in-law, Harold Hahn. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Saturday May 6, 2006, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
