Lawrence J. Narloch, 89, Wausau, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Applegate Terrace, Wausau.
He was born July 28, 1922 in Bevent, son of the late Leon and Mathilda (Levandowski) Narloch. On July 22, 1950 he married Alice Bloom in Wausau. She preceded him in death on January 11, 1985.
Lawrence served in the United States Army during World War II and was at the Battle of the Bulge. He was self-employed as a plastering contractor, a trade he learned from his father and passed along to his son. In his younger years he enjoyed boxing and tennis. Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing and watching football and baseball. Lawrence was devoted to his family and had a great love for his grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Kenneth (Linda) Narloch, Weston, and Nicholas (Janet) Narloch, Waukesha; grandchildren, Christopher (Vilmarie) Narloch, Chicago, and Alyssa Narloch, Waukesha; sisters, Cornelia Kamla, La Crosse, Sister Margaret Narloch CSSF, Oconomowoc, and Mary (James) Erickson, Wausau; sisters-in-law, Lois Narloch, Casper, Wyoming, and Audrey Rochon, Wausau.
Besides his parents and wife, Alice, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Narloch, sister, Violet Gesicki, brother, Leroy Narloch, and infant brother Joseph.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
