Lawrence "Larry" I. Lang, 87, Marathon, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
He was born January 24, 1929 in Marathon, son of the late Joseph and Mathilda (Lang) Lang. Larry worked for Pauly Cheese Company in Wausau for many years until his retirement. Among some of his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and shooting pool.
Survivors include, two sisters, Adeline Sellung, Wausau and Marian Huth, Marshfield; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, Alex, Clara, Arthur and Philip Lang; Dorla Smazal; and an infant brother, Amel.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Larry retired up North for a time and due to illness, he moved to the Bethel Nursing Home in Marshfield. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Bethel for the loving care given to Larry. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Linda and Jim Lang for all you did for Larry all these years.
