Lawrence A. "Ozzie" Knippel
71, San Jose, Calif., died Sunday July 6, 2008 in San Jose, Calif.
He was born June 8, 1937 in Wausau, son of the late Walter F. and Beatrice E. (Fleischman) Knippel. From November 1, 1955 until June 10, 1959, Lawrence had served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Air Force. Prior to his retirement Ozzie had been employed in the computer industry.
Survivors include his siblings, Andrew (Gloria) Knippel, Raymond Knippel, all of Wausau, Carol Prain, Monroe, James (Kathy) Knippel, Calif., one brother-in-law, Lawrence Pierschalla, Wausau, three sisters-in-law, Mary (Buck) Knippel-Stachowiak, Wausau, Rosemarie Knippel, Whiting, Charlene Knippel, Wausau, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Walter, John, William, Charles, Peter and a sister, Rosemary Pierschalla.
The memorial mass will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 9, 2008 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
