Lavonne L. Hamerly

LaVonne L. Hamerly, 72, Wausau, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born Oct. 7, 1934, daughter of the late Otto and Geneva Haese. LaVonne was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake. She was passionate about her needlework, gardening and bird watching. Some of her great enjoyments included spending time with family and playing cards with her children. She also enjoyed attending her children's horse shows, trap shoots and four-wheeling in the Upper Peninsula. She is survived by her husband, Francis Hamerly, whom she married on Dec. 12, 1953; her children, Cindy (Randy) Kettunen, Birnamwood, Glenn (Linda) Hamerly, Schofield, and Lee (Karen) Hamerly, Wausau; five grandchildren, Travis (Shannon) Kettunen, Eric Hamerly, Jarrod Hamerly, Curtis Hamerly and Nicole Hamerly; and one great-granddaughter, Erin. Also surviving are her brother, Eldrow (Lois) Haese, Rhinelander; sisters-in-law, Doris Haese, Virginia, Sharleen (Gene) Peltier, Wausau, and Mary Klumpyan, Schofield; 13 nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Delbert Haese; and one nephew. Her wishes were to have no services. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau, assisted the family.
