Laverne H. Erickson

LaVerne H. Erickson 87, Wausau, died Friday, June 3, 2011 at Wausau Manor. She was born June 3, 1924 in the Town of Easton, daughter of the late John Sr. and Erlinda (Krueger) Nienow. On August 25, 1943 she married Herbert Erickson. He preceded her in death. LaVerne worked at Marathon Battery and also farmed. She enjoyed snowmobiling and was a former member of the Glandon Snow Barrons. She also enjoyed crocheting, making hats for other members of her snowmobile club and baby blankets for family and friends. LaVerne loved gardening and looked forward to monthly Town of Hewitt Golden Oldies dinners. Survivors include her children, Arlan (Shirley) Erickson, Wausau, Carlyn Puchalski, Sauk Village, Ill. and Lois (Charles) Juedes, Wausau; grandchildren, Wendy (Thomas) Kreimer, Lake Elmo, Minn., Rhonda (Chris) Kielman, Ringle, Chad (Kelly) Erickson, Edgar, Gina (Paul) Krueger, Wausau, Michelle Puchalski, Sauk Village, Ill., Tracy Puchalski, Sauk Village, Ill., RaNae Juedes, Keith (Jackie) Juedes, Kevin (Lori) Juedes, Kurt Juedes and Kyle Juedes, all of Wausau; great grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Kreimer, both of Lake Elmo, Minn., MaKayla and Colton Kielman, both of Ringle, Ashley and Preston Erickson, both of Edgar, Isabelle and Emerson Krueger, Ryan, Derick and Logan Bentz, Lane, Lauren, Travis, Emily and Olivia Juedes, all of Wausau; siblings, Mary Ann Wertanen, Panama City, Flor., Clarence Nienow, Wausau, Gaylord Nienow, Irma and Virginia Ermeling, Wausau; sister-in-law, Gretchen Nienow, Wausau, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Herbert, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Leonard Puchalski, a sister, Joyce Nienow and a brother, John Nienow. Funeral services will be 11a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Aniwa. Rev. Robert Bleeke will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4-8p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 10a.m. until the time of services at the church.
