Lauretta C. Nowacki

Lauretta C. Nowacki 93, 209 Munes Street, Athens, died Friday May 9, 2003 at her home. She was born May 11, 1909 in Poniatowski, daughter of the late Otto and Elizabeth (Fischer) Sommer. On September 4, 1929 she married Theodore Nowacki in Poniatowski. He preceded her in death November 9, 1998. Lauretta was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards, crocheting afgans and quilt making. Survivors include three sons, Albert (Helen) Nowacki, Cedar Falls, Norbert Nowacki, Athens, Herbert (Mary) Nowacki, Sheboygan, four daughters, Christine (Raymond) Lapinski, Random Lake, Elizabeth (James) Rogaczewski, Athens, Patricia (Earl) Stricka, Chilton, Helen (Delmar) Dassow, Stetsonville, one sister, Cecelia Diers, Edgar, 25 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Josephine Sommers. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Barbara Nowacki and four brothers, Joe, Lawrence, Alphonse and Frank Sommer. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 13, 2003 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the Athens funeral home.
