Laura Louise Woellner, 88, of Athens, passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 1, 2026, under the care of Hope Hospice.
She was born May 28, 1937 to Edwin and Lillian (Kautzer) Dahl. On August 3, 1954, she married Victor Woellner at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Athens. They lived on the family farm that she ran for many years.
Laura enjoyed working for the Halsey Township, sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, her pets, dining out, playing Sheepshead and family get togethers.
She is survived by her children, Florence (Glen) Kreft, Marathon, Sue (Claude) Kreft, Athens, Debbie (Kirk) Simon, Athens, Sarah (Mike) Young, Athens, Brian (Jodi) Woellner, Wausau and Kent (Brenda) Woellner, Athens; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved sister, Betty Auner, Athens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Victor Sr.; two sons, Victor Jr. and Ronnie; her daughter, Bonnie; and many other dear family members.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. George Graham will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Athens. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
