Laura Emma (Bartelt) Lueck daughter of Carl and Hedwig (Zastrow) Bartelt was born August 24, 1916 in the town of Hamburg and passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014.
She became a child of God through the washing of Holy Baptism on September 24, 1916 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and also confirmed in the Christian faith as held by the Lutheran church at St. John. She met Norman Lueck at a youth church group and on September 3, 1938 they were married at St. John Lutheran Church.
Laura was a big help to her husband on their family farm. She also sold Stanley Products. After moving to Milwaukee area she opened a bridal shop in Lannon, and later one in Hartland. She also owned and operated the Bridal and Formal Salon in Wausau. She was a talented and gifted seamstress, making many lovely items for family and friends.
Laura was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She loved to sew, garden, cook and be around her loved ones. She was active in the Lutheran church and loved talking about her faith and her church.
She is survived by her children, Marge (Edward) Giese, Richard (Jeanne) Lueck and Suzanne (Don) Rudolph with whom she lived with for nine years, son-in-law, Duane Habeck; eleven grandchildren, Christine (Rick) Zimmerman, Rachael (Tracy) Helms, David Habeck, Lisa (fiancAC. Scott Fleisner) Giese, Laura (John Paul) Spring, LeAnn (Gabe) Graf, Joe (Tracie) Lueck, Michael (Lora) Rudolph, Kimberly (Brian) Boesl, Tracy Wendt and Heidi (Kevin) Denzine; twenty-one great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Schulz, Carolyn Schultz and Alice (Cliff) Christenson and many other relatives and friends.
Laura is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Norman Lueck, her daughter, Charlotte Habeck, and brothers, Leo, Arthur, Theodore and Charles Bartelt and one sister, Rose Koneman.
Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. Rev. Andrew Alberts will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, town of Hamburg. Friends may call Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the church.
