Larry J. Wild

Larry J. Wild, 80, of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at home.

He was born in southern Wisconsin in the town of York on December 19, 1945, to the late Henry and Grace (Krull) Wild. Larry was united in marriage to Susan McCarron on December 16, 1978, in Medford. She preceded him in death in 2004.

For many years Larry was an over-the-road truck driver and delivered fruit and vegetables across the United States. Over the years he drove for E.L. Murphy and Northstar Transport. Trucking was Larry’s life and when he was home he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include his sister, Dolly Bartz; many nieces and nephews; and his good friends, Florence (Randy) Volzka; C.J.; and their grandchildren, Ezrie and Emrick.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan; parents, Henry and Grace; siblings, Henry, Babe, David D., David A., Richard, and Jean; and stepson, Scott.
