Larry Lee Stone, 67, Wausau, died unexpectedly at his home, Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
He was born October 8, 1946 in Los Angeles, Calif., son of the late Harvey and Marian (Smith) Stone.
As a result of a car accident, Larry lost his sight at the age of 18. Even after going blind he managed to work as a dark room technician at St. Mary's Hospital for many years. He was also able to raise his two boys on his own. Cooking, cleaning, and even playing ball were skills he mastered. Among his favorite things to do, he enjoyed riding his tandem bike with his boys, playing his guitar and singing.
He is survived by his two sons, Christopher (Laurie), Weston, and Joshua, Wausau; six grandchildren, Anthony, Jameson, Raven, Samantha, Alex, and his "little sweetie" Makayla; three sisters Linda (Craig) Seis, Antigo, Donna Mickelson, Sheboygan, and Cindy (Mike) Horst, Oconto Falls; brother Daniel Stone, Calhoun, Mo.; special friend Charlotte, Sparta; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his spiritual brother Dan Bair.
We love you so much Dad, you left us too soon. You will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be 5:45 p.m., Monday, July 7, 2014 at Peterson Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Friends and family may call on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
