Larry A. Reynolds
65, Weston, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2007 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with M.S.
He was born April 26, 1942, in Wausau, son of Geraldine (Christiansen) Reynolds and the late John Reynolds. Larry worked at National Food Store from the age of 16, and at the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Before he became totally disabled, he loved working on cars and T.V.'s. He always kept a beautiful lawn and surroundings. When he was no longer able to care for his lawn himself, he called on his grandson, nephew and neighbors. Everyone was always willing to help no matter how meticulous he was. Larry always spoiled his children and grandchildren, not only with the necessities of life, but with many luxuries. He met his wife, Susan Kintner, while he was in the Air Force, based in Peru, Indiana. They married on March 27, 1965 and moved to Wisconsin to begin their family.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Susan Reynolds, Weston; two children, Kimberly (Robert) Seehafer, Merrill and Kevin (Georgia) Reynolds, Cascade Mountain, Wis.; three grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa and Aaron Seehafer; one step-granddaughter, Rhiannon Heil; one step-great granddaughter, Trista Heil; his mother, Geraldine Reynolds, Rib Mountain; three sisters, Marlene Hitz, Wausau, Susie Weller, Rib Mountain and Rosemary (Mark) Bever, Wausau; one brother, Michael Reynolds, Wausau; his mother-in-law, Genieve Kintner, which came to live with him and Susan in May of this year; his special niece, Rebecca Zachary, Jasper, Ind., which he and Susan took in as their own daughter when Rebecca's mother passed away many years ago; his half sister, Carol (Ron) Cywinski, Mosinee; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Reynolds; one brother, David Reynolds; one sister, MaryLou Albertson; and his best friend from childhood, Terry Schlias.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Janusz Kowalski will preside. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
The last week while in the Palliative Care Unit at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, he was surrounded 24 hours a day by his family and friends, he was never alone. He passed away softly and painlessly with his wife, son, daughter, son-in-law and his three grandchildren at his bedside. The family would like to thank the Visiting Nurses Association and VNA Hospice Care givers and nurses for the past 15 years of care. Over those years, a few caregivers gave above and beyond the call of duty. He loved them dearly. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
