Larry K. Landwehr, 60, of Wausau passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born September 22, 1949 in Wausau, the son of the late Lawrence and Juliane (Mueller) Landwehr. Larry graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in computer science. He was proud of his work with NASA and General Electric.
On February 26, 2002 he married Mary Slomske in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives. Larry loved to travel. Along with wife they traveled extensively throughout the US, exploring back roads and seeking out unusual sites and good foods. They even resided in Guadalajara and Aguascalientes, Mexico for some years. Some of his hobbies included reading, working on his computer, playing video games, growing hot peppers and going on mushroom hunts. Larry was in MENSA and was a published author. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his brother and friends.
Survivors include his wife Mary, Wausau, one son Luke Landwehr , Portland Ore., one daughter Lea Landwehr, Madison, WI two sisters: Heidi (Scott) Borchardt and Sonya Landwehr both of Edgar, a sister-in-law Paula Lentz, Wausau, two stepdaughters; Robin Johnson, Madison and Sara Gerke, Lodi along with nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and recently by his beloved brother, Mitchell.
Sincere appreciation to Dr. Srivastava, the staff at both Aspirus Palliative Care and Ministry Home Care especially Deb Henke-Dobson who could always make him smile.
