Larry L. Jackman

Larry L. Jackman, 74, Wausau, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born November 14, 1941 in Buffalo, New York, son of the late Barry and Hazel (Henderson) Jackman. On September 21, 1968, he married Kathy Miller in Gretna, Nebraska. She survives. In his younger years, Larry worked for the Trane Company in LaCrosse, and retired from Greenheck Fan Corp. in 2005 as Vice President of International Operations. Throughout his working career, Larry traveled to more than 55 countries. This was one of the most rewarding aspects of his job and he developed many friendships with people from all over the world. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed golfing, playing games and most of all, going on adventures with his grandchildren. He loved spending the winter months in Scottsdale, Arizona, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, dad and grandpa and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include, his wife of 48 years, Kathy Jackman, Wausau; two children, Scott (Jonnee Bauer) Jackman, Wausau and Lisa (Travis) Holdorf, Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren, McKayla and Kylie Holdorf and Sophia Jackman; one sister, Carol (Wayne) Thoren, Bloomington, Indiana; three brothers-in-law, Joseph (Janice) Miller and Donald (Nancy) Miller, both of Omaha, Nebraska; Robert (Mimi) Miller, Peoria, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Pamela Jackman. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Dan Thelen will preside. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Saturday from Noon until time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Larry's family to be donated to the American Cancer Society.
