Larry S. Heise

February 18, 1971 — February 11, 2025

Edgar

Larry Steven Heise, 53, of Edgar, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.  Larry was born on February 18, 1971 to Phyllis Kufahl and the late Mayward Heise.

Larry graduated from Marathon High School in 1989.  The day after graduation, he began working at Central Silo Services, now known as Brubacker Ag Equipment.  Although the business changed names and owners throughout the years, Larry remained dedicated and passionate about serving customers, who all became friends.

On November 28, 2003, Larry married Christine Boehm.  Together they raised her children; Joseph (Isabel) Duberstein, Tara (Zachary) Furger, Kristin (Allen) Fleischman and had two children of their own; Madison and Kyla.  As Madison and Kyla got older, Larry became an avid participant of the Rib View Ramblers 4-H Club.  He was the president of the Market Animal Show & Sale, and the chair of the Hospitality committee.  He truly enjoyed supporting his daughters and community members throughout 4-H and making lasting memories with them.

Larry was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  He always took pride in other people’s accomplishments and never asked for any sympathy or praise for anything he did.  He was the best storyteller and he seemed to have an unlimited supply of dad jokes.  His sense of humor was unmatched, leading to his nickname from his children, “Lord Larry”.  He loved trivia, as he claimed he had an endless supply of useless information.

Larry also enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family.  Some of the best memories shared with Larry were camping, fishing, hunting, and watching him play with his grandchildren, who he adored.  Larry also loved woodworking, helping his children with fixing things, working on his small hobby farm with his girls, and watching his children play sports.

Larry is survived by his loving wife and children.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Maria, Devin, Liam; Adalyn & Owen, and baby Fleischman on the way; his mother Phyllis Kufahl (Bob Riemer); siblings Lori (Bob) Fuller, Lon (Laura) Heise, Lynn (Scott) Cyzan, and Lowell Heise; mother-in-law, Alice Boehm, in-laws, Ann Mueller, Brian (Lisa) Boehm, Neil (Amy) Boehm, as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Mayward Heise, his step-father, Garry Kufahl, father-in-law, Lee Boehm, maternal grandparents, Harold and Loretta Behnke, as well as his paternal grandparents, Paul and Martha Heise.

Visitation will take place at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 4 – 8 p.m., and again on Tuesday from 10 – 11 a.m.  The service will follow the visitation on Tuesday at 11 a.m.  Rev.
