Larry Hanson

Larry Hanson 60, 12416 West Prospect Drive, New Berlin, Wisconsin, died Wednesday April 23, 2003 at his home. He was born January 2, 1943 in Easton Township, Adams County, Wisconsin, son of Irene (Sandow) Zink, Madison, and the late Leslie Hanson. On April 25, 1964, he married Eunice Skrzypchak at Sacred Heart Catholic, town of Cassel. She survives him and he will always be with her. Prior to his retirement, Larry was employed at the former Allen-Bradley, now Rockwell International, Milwaukee, as an Electronics Technician. Many articles in major publications have been written about the innovative department he helped develop. He was recognized for a continuing education program he completed at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Larry was a longtime, active member of Mary Queen of Heaven Parish, West Allis. He was a member of the church choir and a star of the annual cabaret shows. He also belonged to Midwest Vocal Express, a barbershop chorus that placed fifth in the world. His beautiful baritone voice will be missed. He shared his talents as a craftsman through woodworking, stained glass and constructing the internal structures for Eunice's santa dolls. Survivors include his wife, Eunice, a daughter, Cherrie Leigh Hanson, Milwaukee; a son, Rod (Sherry Ann) Hanson, Sussex, a grandson, Eric Andersen; his mother and step-father, Irene (Lyle) Zink, Madison; two half brothers, Peter (Jean) Hanson, Westfield, Gary (Donna) Zink, Verona, a step brother, Duane (Eleanor) Zink, Janesville, a half sister, Lylette Smith, Pewaukee, two step-sisters, Eloise (Harold) Thomm, Madison and Karen (Dominic) Pantello, Dellwood. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. Monday April 28, 2003 at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 2322 South 106th Street, West Allis, Wisconsin 53227. Friends may call on Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
