Larry J. Cline, 76, Wausau, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Rennes Health and Rehab in Weston, under the care of St. Croix Hospice.
He was born August 25, 1949 in Antigo, son of the late Vinard and Geraldine (Rickman) Cline. On October 26, 1974, he married Jeanne Rine at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Antigo. She survives.
Larry was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force and served as a Liquid Oxygen Specialist at the Wheelus Air Base in Libya, Royal Air Force Base in Lakenheath, England, Turkey, Norway and the Beale Air Force Base in California. He was a member the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post No. 388, Wausau.
For 36 years, Larry was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service until his retirement. Larry valued time spent with his family and friends, loved animals, and his sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Cline; three children, Rachel (Andy Biefel) Cline, Chicago, Rebecca Cline, Weston and Jason Cline, Bozeman, MT; one brother, Donald Cline, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Jean Cline; one sister, Sue Rahn; brother-in-law and hunting buddy, Tom Rahn; and his best friend, Dick Muraski.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Wausau. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau with full military honors conducted by the VFW Burns Post No. 388, Wausau. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
