Larry A. Bloch, 66, of Athens, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
Larry was born September 26, 1960, in Merrill, Wisconsin, the son of the late Raymond and Rosella (Woller) Bloch.
Larry married Janice Westfall on August 25, 1984. They were married for 22 years before later divorcing. Larry later met his life partner, Barbara Viguet, and they spent many loving years together.
In his early years, Larry worked at a mink ranch in Hamburg and for Wausau Homes. He later worked as a carpenter and maintenance worker for Todd Frahm. Larry was passionate about his work and could often be found fixing or building something. He took great pride in his ability to work with his hands and help others.
Larry enjoyed the simple things in life. He was passionate about fishing, dartball, horseshoes, hunting, gardening, and riding his bike around town. He loved watching truck and tractor pulls, making summer sausage, and spending time outdoors. Every year, he looked forward to planting pumpkins and sharing them with his grandchildren. Most of all, Larry enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, socializing, and creating memories with the people he loved.
Larry is survived by his children, Lance (Jill) Bloch of Abbotsford, Lukas (Cally) Bloch of Athens, Jacquelyn (Tim) Becker of Athens, and Jennifer (Michael) Hardin of Athens; 13 grandchildren, Dylan (Skylar), Dana, Madison, Sophie, Skyler, Harper, Shelby, Hazel, Jozy, Styles, Hallie, Jazzalyn, and Hux; one step-grandchild, Blake; his life partner, Barbara Viegut; her daughter, Samantha (Raymond) Madilyn, and Ivy Yessa; his sister, Diane Bloch Kell (Matt) of Florida; and his brother, Jerry Bloch of Athens.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Rosella Bloch.
Larry will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his willingness to fix or build anything, the stories he shared, and the many memories he created with family and friends throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
