Kyle T. Miilu

March 8, 1982 — October 31, 2009

Kyle T. Miilu 27, 3303 Seymour Lane, Wausau died unexpectedly Saturday, October 31, 2009 at his home from natural causes. He was born March 8, 1982 in Wausau son of Thomas W. and Kathy J. (Quednow) Miilu, Wausau. Kyle graduated in 2000 from Wausau West High School. During this time he served as manager for the Wausau West football team. While managing he began videotaping football games, a job he enjoyed so much he continued through today. The last game Kyle taped was the playoff in Appleton this past Tuesday. Being the sports fanatic that he was, Kyle loved following the sporting accomplishments of his sister Brittney's boyfriend, Mike Doescher at Wausau West and at the UW Superior. Following high school he attended NTC, graduating in 2003 with a degree in Mechanical Design. He enjoyed his work at Wausau Steel Corporation where he was affectionately referred to as "Skip". Kyle was very active with the Wausau Area Jaycees, serving as a board member, on the Fourth of July Committee and as chairman of the Punt Pass and Kick Competition. The members of the Jaycees dedicated the final night of the 2009 Haunted House to Kyle. He always referred to the Jaycees as his second family as they were always so much fun and the laughter seemed to be unending. He was named JC of the Year in 2008, Outstanding Director Year End 2008 and was recognized for the Community Project of the Year in 2008. In 2006 Kyle was diagnosed with Lymphoma and bravely beat the disease. An avid NASCAR fan, Kyle attended a race this summer in Milwaukee where he had the pleasure of meeting Scott Wimmer. During his cancer treatment, Kyle received a call of encouragement from Scott, a gesture he never forgot. He was a huge Packers, Badgers and Brewers Fan and also enjoyed sports in general. Some of Kyle's other hobbies included hunting and fishing. Special to Kyle was the time spent with his father and brother hunting on his uncles land outside Wausau. Special hunting memories also include the times hunting in Upper Michigan at Savolainen Camp near Sidnaw and at the A Frame near Mass City. Survivors include his parents, Thomas and Kathy Miilu, Wausau, his brother, Brandon Miilu, Wausau and his sister, Brittney (friend, Mike Doescher) Miilu, Superior, his maternal grandfather, Joseph Quednow, Medford and his paternal grandmother, Mildred Miilu, Mass City, Michigan.
