Kristofer L. Oleson

Kristofer L. "Otis" Oleson 55, Wausau, died Friday July 24, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital from injuries sustained in a car/motorcycle crash. He was born in Wausau on Sunday, December 1, 1953 to Roy "Ole" Oleson of Wausau and the late Geraldine (Rogalla) Oleson. On September 26, 1981, he married Wanda McCallin and together, they have 2 sons Seth age 23 and Jesse age 20. Otis was an employee at Graphic Packaging, Wausau for over 30 years. He and his wife Wanda also own the West Side Tasty Treat in Wausau. Otis enjoyed many different things in life. He was a 'determined' deer hunter. He loved to build 'forts' as a child. This followed him into adulthood, his backyard has a 'shed' and a round tree house that includes electricity and a shingled roof that he built with his sons. He was a Disney fan and took many vacations there with his family. Otis also liked to tinker in the garage, he could fix anything and build anything. Otis was also an amazing pool shot. He played on many leagues over the years, most recently for Trails End in Wausau. It was one of his favorite things to do. To his team mates, "He had so much love and respect for you guys." He was a great father and loved to do things with his boys. He and Seth just finished building a full size, 6' high video arcade cabinet that has over 100 games on it. It stands proudly in our home and gets used often. Otis and Jesse were working on a recently acquired 1979 Harley Davidson Shovelhead. They (with MUCH advice from friends), finally got it running well enough to ride. Between Otis and Jesse they managed to put over 100 miles on it over the past week. Otis was, is and will always be a "biker", he loved riding his Harley. He passed this love of riding to his wife Wanda and his son Jesse. They will both continue to ride. Otis was lucky enough to have too many friends to count. Many of you were more like family, he truly loved you all. Kris "Otis" is survived by his wife Wanda (McCallin) Oleson, Wausau; two sons, Seth Kristofer Oleson and Jesse Eric Oleson, both of Wausau; his father, Roy "Ole" Oleson, Wausau, one sister, Wendy (Keith) Wilcox, Athens; one brother, Peter Oleson, Wausau; his father and mother in-law, Mac and Bonnie McCallin, Wausau; his sisters in-law, Kristi (Jon) Polzi, Kronenwetter and Stacey (Jason) Thon, Saint Louis Park, Minn.; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine (Rogalla) Oleson and his brother, Eric Oleson. Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau.
