Kristan E. Janse-Dinkel

Kristan E. Janse-Dinkel, 54, Wausau died Friday, March 27, 2015 under the care of Ministry Health Home Care Hospice at her home. She was born June 19, 1960 in Bemidji, Minnesota, daughter of Michael and Mary Ann (Mayer) Janse, River Falls. On October 22, 1988 she married Robert "Bob" Dinkel at St. Bridget Catholic Church, River Falls. He survives. Kris was a 1978 graduate of River Falls High School. Post high school education included a Bachelor of Science degree from Bemidji State University, and earned her Masters from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Kris enjoyed a career working to help young people. She worked briefly with the Fargo, North Dakota Park Department. Left North Dakota came to Stevens Point and coordinated activities for the Holiday Inn. She spent nearly 30 years working for the Wisconsin Technical College system, first with Mid-State Technical College as Student Activities Director and the last 17 years have been with the North Central Technical College finishing her career as Director of Testing. Kris will be remembered for her infectious smile and laughter. Spreading her love of life to co-workers, students, and friends who became part of her family. Kris had an upbeat nature, keen insight, willing to take things in stride, great sense of humor, who could always bring some levity to some challenging situation. She always strived to make someone's day brighter by doing, or saying something nice. Kris loved to spend time with her family, especially watching her two boys playing sports, loved kayaking with her sister up at the lake. She loved to travel with family, played golf, and go for walks with friends and the dog. Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Dinkel, Wausau, her two sons, Vince and Jake Dinkel, Wausau, her parents, Michael and Mary Ann Janse, River Falls, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, JoAnn and Dale Dinkel, Beaver Dam, her siblings, Michael (Jane) Janse, Appleton, Karen (Brenden) Buresh, Eagan, MN, nieces and nephews, Cayden, Chandler, Mikayla, Tyler, Justin, Kennedy, Kaitlin, Anna and Jenna, her sister-in-law Lori Dinkel (late Mike Dinkel), Madison, brother-in-law Steve (Cathi) Dinkel, Jefferson, and sister-in-law Mary Beth Jeske, Milwaukee. A Memorial Mass will be held at Noon, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
