Kordus A. Bernice

Bernice A. Kordus, 92, Wausau, died Thursday, September 29, 2016, at her home. She was born November 10, 1923, in Wausau, daughter of the late John and Dora (Theodosia Szachta) Borski. On September 15, 1945, she married Leo Kordus at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on Thanksgiving Day 2005. Bernice worked at Marathon Rubber before she and Leo started a family. She was a long-time member of St. Michael's Parish and very active in its Parish Council of Catholic Women, Perpetual Help Circle, and the Rosary Society. She enjoyed participating in Stunt Night, bowling, babysitting her grandchildren, using her green thumb to grow many plants, and following the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Tiger Woods. Survivors include two sons, Gary (Lynn) and Robert (Beverly), Wausau; grandchildren Jenna (Mike) Hall, Randy, and Angie (Mike) Blaubach; great-grandchildren Avalon Hall, Talus Hall, Connor Blaubach, and Cameron Blaubach; one sister, Dorothy Pergolski, Wausau; sisters-in-law Alice Sattler and Phyllis Spaude; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Bernice was preceded in death by her brothers August, Anton, Victor, Ambrose, Chester and Roy and sisters, Alice and Marion. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
