Kevin J. Arps

Kevin J. Arps, 56, Wausau, died Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born August 18, 1959, in Wausau, son of Louis Arps, Wausau, and the late June (Giese) Arps. Kevin (also known to many as "Louie") was a 1977 graduate of Wausau East High School and began his working career with LeFEBURE, before starting up his own company, XL Communications. Among his favorite pastimes were playing sheepshead and cribbage, and watching the Packers. He will be fondly remembered for his devotion to family and loyalty to his friends. He had a big heart and was very generous to those in need of a helping hand. Survivors besides his father, Louis Arps, include his partner, Dale Springstead, Wausau and Dale's daughter, Cassie and her son, Noah. Kevin is further survived by his siblings, Greg (Jeannie) Arps, Wisconsin Dells, Debbie (Bill) Overbeck, Rothschild, Shelley (Eugene Litzer) Arps, Wausau, Julie (Jay) Kolbeck, Wausau; nieces and nephews, Tara (Dan) Anchor, Lewis (Melissa) Borck, Kim (Matt) Nelson, Chris (Linnea) Overbeck, Jessi (Scott) Towle, Kelli (Will) Vetter; great nieces and nephews, Ashlee, Alexis, Nolan, Connor, Emmett, Madison, Dylan, Hailey, Maya and Zoe, along with many other relatives and friends. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Robert Streveler will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in care of the family. The family is grateful for the excellent care given to Kevin and wish to express their sincere appreciation to the entire staff of the Aspirus Wausau Hospital Intensive Care Unit, especially April as well as hospital chaplains Linda and Jeff.
