Kent Lukensmeyer 71, 6008 Jessica St., Schofield, died Weds. Nov. 5, 2003 under the care of his family and Comfort Care and Hospice Services at his home. He was born July 27, 1932 in Green Bay, son of the late Delbert Ray and Marjorie Pauline (Eneix) Lukensmeyer. Kent was a graduate of East DePere High School in June 1950. He married Marjorie Fabry on September 18, 1953, she preceded him in death. Kent married Marcy Langhoff Plisch on December 24, 1976. Marcy preceded Kent in death, December 9, 1997. He worked for WBAY TV, Channel 2, and WFRV TV, Channel 5, both in Green Bay and later at Channel 9, WAOW, here in Wausau. Through the years Kent was involved in many business ventures in the area, responding to the entrepreneurial spirit within him. Marcy and Kent owned and operated McClellan Place I & II, Wausau well into their retirement years. He was a Platoon Sargent in the Mosinee National Guard for many years. Kent enjoyed aviation, ATVing, and traveling in his RV. He was also interested in anything electrical or mechanical. Survivors include his children, Susan (Mark) Hartman, Mosinee, Mark Lukensmeyer, Oshkosh, Russell (Kathy) Lukensmeyer, Mosinee, four grandchildren, Jessica (Greg) Lukensmeyer-Byrd, Hillsbourough, NC, Erin and Kelli Lukensmeyer, Mosinee, Lindsay Rae Morris, Tenn.; one great-grandson, Logan Byrd, a special niece, DeAnne Girton and special nephew, David Christensen. Besides his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Christensen and a special friend, Jean (Winters) Layland Williams. Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Sat. November 8, 2003 at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6404 Old Costa Road, Schofield. Pastor Robert Jordan will officiate. Friends may call on Sat. from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. John Kuhn and the entire staff of Comfort Care and Hospice Services, especially Candis Anderson and Michele Cecil, for the outstanding care and concern extended to Kent during the time of his illness.
