Kenneth L. Kranz, 68, Rothschild WI, passed away Monday May 11, 2015 at his home, comforted by his family members, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born June 22, 1946, in Wausau, son of the late Wilbur and June (Mykleby) Kranz. On October 21, 1989, he married Claire Hogan in Wausau WI. He enlisted in the US Marines Corps, served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, Ken worked at Graphic Packaging, and was proud to serve as president of the GCIU. He had a great love of music and was an avid concert goer, from AC/DC to Pearl Jam. When he wasn't rockin' out, he was cruising in his Power Wagon trucks. He spent his quiet time with his beloved Shar Pei's Maya and Kato, and will be joining his best friend "Bear" in the next world. Surviving loved ones include his wife Claire Kranz, Rothschild WI, four children, Samantha Kranz, Calif., Nick (Kranz) (Nicki) Summers, Myrtle Beach SC, Shannah (Justin) Kruse, Wausau WI, Zach Kranz, Rothschild WI, two step-children, Eric (Cyndy) Wunsch, Enid, Okla., Brian (Deanna) Wunsch, Neenah WI, grandchildren, Taylor, step grandchildren, Imogene, Truman, Maranda and Casey; siblings, Bonnie Kranz, Schofield WI, Robert (Karen) Kranz, Kronenwetter WI, Karen (Jon) Seitz, Fla. A celebration of Ken's life will take place at Willow Springs Garden, Wednesday May 20, 2015 starting at 4:00 p.m. with Military Honors to be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com The Kranz family sends a special thanks to the staff at Aspirus Hospice for all their support. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established at the Lincoln County Humane Society.
