Kenneth "Ken" J. Srozinski, 79, Athens, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield, with his wife and two special nieces Kathy and Lisa by his side.
He was born December 6, 1937 in Brainerd, Minn., son of the late Phillip and Fern (Nordeen) Srozinksi. On February 12, 1966, he married Kathryn "Kate" Wing in Silver Bay, Minn.
Ken was a veteran of the United States Army. For many years, he worked as a salesman for Triple F Feeds and Golden Harvest Seeds. Ken was very proud to have volunteered at the Marathon County Library for 20 years and was also in charge of the book sales.
Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed visiting the SS Maritime Meteor Museum in Superior and always looked forward to the McDougall's Dream event, which raised funds to help preserve the ship. Ken also liked to collect political items and was a member of the President Carter APIC (American Political Items Collector) and a member of the National Truman Chapter. Along with his wife, Kate, he loved to travel and visit political sites.
Survivors include, his loving wife of 51 years, Kate, Athens; two sisters, Phyllis Thornton, Hibbing, Minn. and Barbara Rovinsky, Duluth, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews especially Kathy (Mark) Gornick and Lisa (Dan) Samsa.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Alicia Srozinski; and two brothers, Donald and Gerald.
A gathering of friends will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Marathon County Public Library in the new second floor meeting room.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Friends of the Marathon County Public Library or REGI (Raptor Education Group Inc.) in Antigo.
