Kenneth R. Barnett Sr. 55, 2462 Four Mile Road, Marathon, died Sunday, October 28, 2001 at his home. Ken was born November 30, 1945 in Wausau, son of Mack and Winniefred (Hoffmann) Barnett Jr., Wausau. He married Sandra Karlen April 1, 1967 in Wausau. She survives. Ken was employed at the former American Can Corporation for 18 years, then was self employed as a ginseng farmer. He was the founder and a concertina player in the Polka Royals for ten years and loved to hunt and fish. Survivors, besides his wife, Sandy Barnett, Marathon and his parents, Mack and Winnie Barnett, Wausau, include three sons, Brian (Cheri) Barnett, Stratford, Ken Barnett Jr., Mosinee and John Barnett, Marathon, five grandchildren, two sisters, Carole (Bill) Valenta, Mosinee and Claire Ann (Bob) Howe, Ettrick, two brothers, Tom Barnett Sr. and Terry (Marie) Barnett, all of Wausau, many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2001 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon. Rev. Dennis R. Creswell will officiate. Burial will be in Stettin Christian Cemetery, town of Stettin. Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the Marathon funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Ken's name is being established.
