Keith R. Nowicki
26, Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Marathon died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in Colorado Springs.
He was born August 30, 1982 in Los Angeles, California, son of Michael J. Nowicki and Sheryl (Busko) Nowicki. On March 17, 2007 he married Ashley Koch in Colorado Springs. She survives.
Sergeant Nowicki enlisted in the Active Army April 20, 2004 as a Military Intelligence Analyst. He deployed to Iraq twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005 and 2007. His awards and decorations include: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (4th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Combat Action Badge.
Some of his favorite pastimes included listening to music, playing on his computer, video games, traveling and enjoying some good old fine dining.
Survivors include his wife, Ashley Nowicki, Colorado Springs, his mother Sheryl (Brian Larson) Nowicki, Gleason, his father, Michael (Diane Ward) Nowicki, Loveland, Colorado, one sister, Shannon (David) Badura, Green Bay, his paternal grandparents, John and Rosemarie Nowicki, Athens along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is further survived by his dog, Zoe.
Keith was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, David and Jeanette Busko.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Keith's name.
