Kathryn Russell

Kathryn Russell, 77, formerly of Loyal, died Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at Kennedy Park Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Schofield. Kathryn was born January 14, 1925, in Decatur, Texas, daughter of the late Charles H. and Bertha C. (Allison) Rodgers. She married Jack O. Russell on August 29, 1964. He preceded her in death December 24, 2001. Kathryn was a homemaker. She worked as a riveter for Douglas Aircraft during World War II. She loved children and was a foster parent for more than 30 children throughout her life. Fishing, golfing, shooting pool and bowling were among her favorite things to do. She is survived by seven children; James (Marilyn) Goodson, Bangs, TX, Phyllis Goodson, Wausau, Deborah K. (Phil) Stratton, Madison, Sheila (Larry) Smith, Lady Lake, FL., Lori Nowak, Chicago Heights, IL., Jack O. (Mary Ann) Russell II, Holland, MI., John F. Russell, Palatine, IL., 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, two brothers, Trenn (Lahoma) Rodgers, Dumas, TX, Charles H. (Patty) Rodgers III, Lawton, OK. Besides her husband Jack and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2002 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 3-5 p.m., and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Wisconsin.
