Kathryn A. Meyer

Kathryn A. Meyer, 69, Wausau, died Friday September 6, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at the Hospice House, Wausau. She was born July 21, 1944, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of the late Raymond and Aurelia (Flynn) Boge. On January 2, 1971, she married Kenneth Meyer in Madison. He preceded her in death April 15, 2010. Kathryn was a medical secretary at the Dean Clinic in Madison and later became a stay-at-home mom for her four children. Besides being an avid crossword puzzle solver, Kathryn also enjoyed playing golf, gardening and taking walks. In retirement, she enjoyed spending winters with her husband at Gulf Shores where she loved collecting seashells. Among her favorite things to do was playing euchre with her neighbors, attending church groups with friends at St. Ann Parish and participating in water aerobics at the YMCA. Survivors include her four children, Rev. Jeffrey (JoAnn) Meyer, Shullsburg, Jason (Tammy) Meyer, Wausau, Jennifer Anne Meyer, Chicago, Julie (Scott Jr.) Tyrcha, Franklin, 11 grandchildren, Jacob, Johnathan, Joseph, Jadyn, Jessica, Joshua, Jeremiah, Jordan, Zachery, Alissa and Theodore, one sister, Suzanne Carolfi and two brothers, Jerome (Patricia) Boge and James (Susy) Boge. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Praschak, Jeanette "Sissy" Sommer, one brother, R. Eugene Boge and one brother-in-law, Anton "Sam" Carolfi. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 9, 2013 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Jeffrey Hennes will preside. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The Church of St. Anne, 700 W. Bridge Street, Wausau. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
