Kathryn M. Laitala, 83, Wausau, died Monday, October 20, 2003 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital, Wausau.
She was born February 18, 1920 in Saxon, Wis., daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Sailer) Baker. On November 1, 1939 she married John W. Laitala in Saxon. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1990.
Kathryn retired from the Department of Justice in Sacramento, Calif. She was baptized, confirmed, married and received all the sacraments at St. Anne Catholic Church, Saxon. She was also a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau and the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy (Walter) Cosman, Wausau; two grandchildren, Christi (Mark) Olson, Weston and Juliana Cosman, Dallas, Tex.; great grandchildren; and one brother, Richard (Alice) Baker, Sacramento, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister Priscilla Steffke.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2003 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Saxon. The Very Rev. Robert O'Connell will preside. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Saxon. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the time of services Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Ann Catholic Church, Saxon.
