Kathryn M. Emerson, 87, Wausau died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born December 22, 1925 in Chicago, daughter of the late George and Ella (Spilka) Jensen. On June 12, 1948 she married Robert L. Emerson in Chicago. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2000. Kathryn was a telephone supervisor for Sears Co. for many years prior to her retirement. She was very active in the Boy Scouts and was proud to be a Den Leader. Kathryn loved to go fishing and cherished the time she spent with her family. Survivors include her children, Robert (Rose) Emerson, Chicago, Mark (Joan) Emerson, DeKalb, Illinois, James (Edna) Emerson, Mary Esther, Florida and Nancy (Donald) Besonen, Watton, MI, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two half brothers and two half sisters. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. The Rev. Alan Burkhardt will preside. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
