Kathleen G. Ferris

Kathleen G. Ferris, 66, Wausau, died Thursday, September 2, 2004 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at her home. She was born March 31, 1938 in Evanston, Ill., daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Genske) Gaynor. In 1958 she married Robert Nieft. In 1970 she married Richard Ferris. He preceded her in death. In 1993, in Wausau, she married Robert Nestle. He survives. She graduated High School from St. Joseph Academy, Green Bay. Kathleen was a nurse at North Central Health Care Center, Wausau for 15 years caring for Alzheimer's patients after graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Mid-State Tech in Stevens Point. In 1989 she founded Massage Matters and Feet by Ferris. She was a nationally certified and State licensed massage therapist and professional foot care specialist until her retirement due to illness. She considered her grandchildren her "great reward" and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. Survivors include her husband, Robert Nestle, Wausau; children, Karen (Russ) Hermes, DePere, Kirt (Melisa) Nieft, Hilo, Hawaii, Amy (Dr. Barry) Cole, Stratford, Marty (Jen) Ferris, Edgar, Amy (Tim) Puechner, Milwaukee; one brother, Jack (Ila) Gaynor, Slinger; one brother-in-law, John DePrey, Green Bay; grandchildren, Justen and Kersten Puechner, Milwaukee, Jessica and Angie Hermes, DePere, Maya Jaloa Secola, Hilo, Hawaii, Austin, Grayson and Colin Cole, Stratford, Ashley Ferris, Edgar; one great grandchild, Riley Ferris and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Ferris, one sister, Patricia DePrey and a nephew, Matthew DePrey. Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday September 4, 2004, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Sue Eidahl will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a scholarship fund for her grandchildren. We miss you Ferris. Thanks for the hugs.
