She was born February 1, 1947 in Marshfield, daughter of the late Paul C. Hoffman Jr. and Marion (Dawson) Hoffman. On May 22, 1998 she married Jerome Hopperdietzel in Wausau. He survives
Karyl enjoyed sewing and knitting and often made things for her children and grandchildren. She also loved cats and had many of them.
Survivors include her husband, Jerome, Athens; mother, Marion Hoffman; two daughters, Ann (Bill) Haynes, Medford and Cindy (Roger) Engel, Rib Lake; three sons, Peter Janda, Spooner, Tim (Tara) Janda, Wausau and Karl Janda, Athens; 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; three brothers, Larry Hoffman, Wayne (Arlene) Hoffman, both of Athens and Eugene (Judy) Hoffman, Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters, Karyn (Roy) Jacob, Athens and Janet (Norb) Lake, Edgar, other relatives and friends.
Besides her father, Paul C. Hoffman Jr., she was preceded in death by a husband, Eugene Pupp and brother, Leroy D. Hoffman.
Private family services will be held.
