Karl L. Schreiner

Karl Schreiner, 68, of Athens Wisconsin passed peacefully from his home to his eternal rest on June 4th. A humble and kind man Karl will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He spent 35 years, supporting farmers throughout the area with their needs and caring deeply about their families. Many people will recall his passion for raising whitetails. Deep kinship was forged with many Deer friends across four decades. Spring fawns, peanut treats, and antler watch hours were quality time. AI and ship outs were adventurous and boisterous moments for which he was grateful to kindred spirits who showed up every year. Karl was a quiet problem solver always willing to help anyone no matter his personal cost, a man you could count on who didn’t expect anything in return. Karl‘s extensive family will miss his steady presence, gentle eyes, and loving heart. He desired peace rather than strife and always chose his actions with that intent. Karl cherished sharing enjoyment of the simple things in life. A clear crisp morning in the forest, listening intently to catch the first glimpse of a magnificent buck strolling through. The twitch of the line as a fat trout left the stream to join him for breakfast. The joy of a well tended food garden nourishing both body and spirit. A good hound’s companionship. A rock, solid and timeless, with stories untold, quiet yet beautiful… 

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens, with Rev. George Graham presiding.  Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18 and continue on Friday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.  Private burial will take place.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
