Karen A. Van Wormer

Karen Ann Van Wormer 59, 2400 Marshall Street, Wausau, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born June 12, 1946 in Galloway, Wisconsin daughter of the late Thomas and Loretta Kostuck. Karen was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Among her many interests, Karen undoubtedly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She always referred to them all as her four babies. In living and dying, she inspired all who knew and loved her. She was the true meaning of unconditional love. Her spirit, courage and optimism throughout her life were humbling. No matter what obstacles in life Karen was dealt, she always looked at the brighter side of things. If you were to ask her family what her response would be to a challenging situation, Karen would say, "Better days are coming." Better days have come for Karen. She is now with the Lord and no longer suffering. To her "four babies" she was their angel and guiding light, her strength, spirit, laughter and touch will be greatly missed. Rest in peace with the angels Mom, you are truly one of them... .."Your babies" Karen is survived by her devoted and loving children, Jacqueline Van Wormer, Wausau and Jennifer Van Wormer, Grand Rapids, Mich., her beloved grandchildren James R. Robison III and Skye T. Johnson. Besides her parents Karen was preceded in death by two brothers Richard and John Kostuck. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2005 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. The Deacon Robert Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Friends may call on Thursday from 2:15 p.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home.
