Karen M. Ewan
55, Athens, died Friday, February 6, 2004 at her home under the care of Marshfield Home Hospice Care.
She was born November 19, 1948 in Vale, South Dakota, daughter of the late Manuel and Clara (Gray) Lungren. On July 30, 1971, she married Roger Ewan at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. He survives.
Karen was an administrative assistant for Marathon Cheese Corporation. She was very active in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens, their Parish Council of Catholic Women and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Andrew J. Sutter Post #8577, Athens. Besides card playing, growing plants and traveling, one of her favorite things to do was visiting with her family.
Besides her husband, Roger Ewan, Athens, survivors include two sisters, Rita (Tim) Donaldson, Newell, South Dakota and her twin, Kathy (Geoff Legat) Ducker, Orlando, Florida; one brother, Rex (Kim) Lungren, Glenrock, Wyoming; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at the church.
There will be a 7:00 p.m. bible vigil Tuesday at the Athens funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed either the American Cancer Society or Marshfield Home Hospice Care.
