Karen S. Berzill, 63, Wausau died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born June 22, 1949 in Oshkosh, daughter of the late Ewald "Bud" and Ruth (Weigel) Wendorf. On May 18, 1991 she married Gary Berzill at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. He survives.
Karen worked at Harmon Glass for 13 years and then went to work for Lutheran Social Services in Wausau until the time of her illness. Some of her favorite pastimes included gardening, music, arts and crafts and enjoying the duties of being a grandma. Karen was expecting her first great grandchild this spring. She will also be fondly remembered for being Gary's guardian angel over the past few years.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Berzill, Wausau, three children, Tami (Todd) Knoblock, Rothschild, Christina (Trent) Wassum, Lincolnton, North Carolina and Jason (Niki) Berzill, Oshkosh, five grandchildren, Melissa and Danniyelle Knoblock and Nicole, Brent and Chloe Wassum and two sisters-in-law, Sandra Hartsock, Wausau and Robin (Mikey) Berzill-Mulder, Wausau as well as her faithful friend, Samuel Jackson, and other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. The Rev. Joy Nelson Jeffers will officiate.
