June Marie Schneck (Thorne) born June 22, 1926 went to be with our Lord March 20, 2015.
Our mother was a woman of faith and strength who persevered through life. She had an infectious smile, laugh and a heart filled with love for so many.
She was married to Howard Schneck on May 14, 1949 in Antigo and together they had seven children. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1975.
Survivors include, five children, Cyndy (Ed) Krumanaker, Eagle River, Alaska, David (Rosie) Schneck, Aniwa, Timothy (Victoria) Schneck, Killeen, Texas, Gary (Kathy) Schneck, Wausau and Colleen (Jeff) Gruetzmacher, Wausau; 14 grandchildren, Kevin, Tracy, Mandy, Jenny, Kelly, Sarah, Brian, Becky, Tim, Meghan, Mike, Stephanie, Alex, Cameron; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by one sister, Marge Mortenson; one brother, Roy (Phyllis) Thorne, sisters-in-law, Joan Lewitzke, Florence Edelburg and Geraldine Schneck; one brother-in-law; Donald Kleinschmidt; and numerous other relatives.
She was predeceased by her husband Howard; two sons, Greg and Daniel; one grandson, Adam Gruetzmacher; brothers, Vernon, Glen, Richard and Donald Thorne; sisters, Lorraine Thorne, Evelyn Damitz, Eileen Damitz, Jean Kautza (her twin); brothers-in-law, Rudy and Cub Damitz, Gordon Mortenson, Donald Kautza, Earl Kolbeck, Melvin and James Schneck; sisters-in-law, Margaret, Evelyn and Janet Thorne, Grace Kolbeck, Eleanor Schneck and Nancy Kleinschmidt.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Friends may call on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until time of services all at the church. Private burial will be on Friday at St. Michael Cemetery.
Her two favorite seasons were spring and summer. She entered the world on the first day of summer in June of 1926 and left us on the first day of spring March of 2015.
