Julianne “Julie” C. Brzezinski, 82, of Wausau and formerly of Weston, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Our House Senior Living, Wausau, after a two-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born September 26, 1942 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Marvin and Clara (King) Arndt. On November 10, 1962 she married Donald Brzezinski at St. Mark Catholic Church in Rothschild. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2012 and is survived by her son, Dean of Rothschild.
Julie worked for the Marathon County Department of Social Services for eight years, retiring on December 1, 2014. She also worked at 3M Company in Wausau for 22 years in Human Resources and retired October 1, 2003. Prior to those jobs she worked for J.I. Case/Drott, Green Bay Packaging, and Marathon Electric.
She had many interests, but especially loved gardening and photography. Julie was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Milwaukee Brewers. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Rothschild and was a strong believer in the power of prayer.
Survivors include her son, Dean Brzezinski of Rothschild; brother, John (Carol) Arndt of Schofield; sisters, Jacqueline (Paul) Kell of Wausau and Joy (Robert) Smith of Hilton Head, South Carolina; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James (Mary Jo) Brzezinski of West Bend, Ernest Brzezinski of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Thomas (Joan) Brzezinski of Weston, Michael (Lori) Brzezinski of Rothschild, Donna (Roger) Carr of Weston, and Linda Brzezinski of Portage; and many nephews, nieces, godchildren, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents, Marvin and Clara Arndt; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Esther Brzezinski; and sisters-in-law, Grace and Marcia Brzezinski.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 602 Military Road, Rothschild, with Rev. Joseph Albert presiding. Julie will be remembered as a kind and gentle person whose friends and family were most important to her, especially her son, Dean.
